What will I be doing?

  • You will be providing a friendly and efficient service for the centre visitors:
  • - Meeting and greeting all visitors
    - Answering and transferring incoming calls and taking messages
    - Promoting all current activities
  • - Directing visitors to the activities rooms
    - Occasional, data entry and using basic MS office packages
    - Admin tasks, including photocopying, mail outs, filing

Commitment

  • Usually you would contribute at least 2 shifts per week (3 hours each).
  • We would like you to commit for a minimum of six months.

What else do I need to know?

  • Would you like to gain valuable experience volunteering for a few hours per week within our lively reception?
    If so we would love to hear from you. You will meet people, share your skills and be part of a friendly team.
    We are a vibrant community centre and we provide educational, recreational, social and cultural opportunities for a wide range of community members with different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Ideally you would have previous experience interacting with a wide members of the public, be reliable, flexible and good time keeper, good telephone manner with clear spoken English and an understanding of basic MS packages (Word, Outlook and Excel).
  • Volunteers will receive a full induction. We reimburse travel expenses and lunch for those volunteering over 4 hours.
