What will I be doing?

  • The Playbus is a double-decker bus that has been fully converted into an early years play facility. We drive the Playbus to housing estates and public parks in East London to create enabling play environments for children aged 0-4 years old. Our play sessions provide a variety of resources and activities that support children’s early learning and development. Playbus sessions typically run for two hours and include a fruit and vegetable snack. Our scheduled sessions run whatever the weather and are always free to attend! Families are able to drop in and out of our sessions as they please.
  • Support the team to set up and tidy down the play sessions. Maintaining a safe environment (being aware of potential trips and slips). Welcoming families attending the sessions. Supervising children playing on and (in good weather) beside the Playbus. Being observant around children attending the Playbus services and reporting any concerns to a member of staff. Interacting with carers and children.
  • Contributing to planning and carrying out play and craft activities. Administrative tasks such as registering new parents or completing attendance records. Contributing to session report forms and monitoring sheets.
  • Behaving in a way that is fair and sensitive to families. Being helpful and responsive to requests for support. Promoting a quality service, exhibiting a high standard of activities, information displays etc. Lifting and carrying play equipment. Assisting the driver by opening gates etc.
  • Have fun!.
