What will I be doing?

  • Translate some information leaflets for people whose first language is not English
  • We are currently looking for volunteers who specialises in Bengali, Punjabi, Urdu and Turkish
  • Interpret written pieces in different languages, while making sure that the original meaning, format and tone are maintained
  • Proofread finished pieces of work

What impact will this have?

  • St Joseph’s Hospice serves diverse communities in East and North East London with serious, life-limiting conditions
  • Many people who could access our service do not speak English as their first language.
  • Help a worthwhile local charity
  • Meet new people

Training

  • Once we have received your application we will drop you a line to invite you to one of our Information Sessions where you will find out more about the work of the hospice.
  • After this, if you decide to proceed with your application, we will arrange an informal interview and training with the relevant department.
