What will I be doing?

  • The primary role of the Volunteer Gardener is to help maintain the gardens and outside areas of Richard House.
  • Specifically our Volunteer Gardener will be expected to:

    • Tidy the grounds
    • Planting new bulbs, shrubs and flowers
    • Cutting back, weeding, clearing and general tidying throughout grounds
    • Maintain accessibility of paths
  • In addition you may occasionally be asked to maintain a particular area or prepare grounds for events and activities at Richard House.
  • Help maintain our new Sensory Garden.

What impact will this have?

  • As well as making a real difference to the lives of life-limited children and their families, you will have the opportunity to meet new people, use your existing skills and learn new ones.
  • You have the opportunity to enjoy spending time outside in our gardens and the flexibility to choose how much time you want to spend volunteering (see above).
  • We will provide you with health and safety and child protection training. You will receive ongoing support from our volunteer co-ordinator and be part of a friendly committed team at Richard House
