What will I be doing?

  • Visiting isolated clients at home for support and company.
  • Helping Clients to access the community and local activities.
  • Reporting on visits to the Volunteer Manager.
  • Attending group support meetings and extra training when possible.
  • Providing information and emotional support to disabled clients.

Commitment

  • 1-2 hours per week.

What else do I need to know?

  • This Role is available throughout the week at a time that suits you.
  • All volunteers are supported and supervised on an ongoing basis by our dedicated volunteer coordinator.
  • This is a high impact volunteer role for the local community, you will be able to really see the difference you are making.

Expenses

  • we pay reasonable expenses for travel and food/drink

Background checks

  • A DBS check is required

Training

  • Full training is provided including, a full induction session, safeguarding e-learning and equality and diversity e-learning.
  • Additional extra optional training is provided throughout the year such as first aid and mental health awareness sessions.
  • Further free training is available via RCVS.
