Commitment

  • Our team come from all walks of life and have diverse schedules, which is why we are flexible and understanding with the amount of time our volunteers are able to offer us. We hope you will work towards a commitment of around 20 shifts per summer season (or around one shift per week from April 2020 – October 2020), but many of our volunteers choose to do more!
  • We ask for a minimum commitment of 14 shifts during our summer season, and you may be asked to reapply the following year should you not manage this minimum.

An average shift lasts approximately four hours with start times as follows:

1.00pm for a matinee performance (one hour earlier on Sundays)
6.30pm for an evening performance (one hour earlier on Sundays)

What else do I need to know?

  • Please complete our online application form on our website. All applications must be received by 5.00pm on Monday 13 January 2020.
  • Join us at Shakespeare’s Globe on Tuesday 3 December as part of our Taster Afternoon and meet the Volunteer Management Team and some of our current volunteers. Get a sneak peak of the theatre and ask any questions that you have about the role. Drop by and meet us in the main foyer at any time between 4:30pm and 6:30pm.
  • This volunteer role will commence in April with interviews taking place in January, and training across February and March.
