What impact will this have?

  • Volunteers will help to maintain a prominent garden at the entrance to Crystal Palace Park that was co-designed by volunteers
  • The planting is unusual for the busy setting and brings a bit of wildlife to the heart of Crystal Palace town centre
  • The garden is at a busy junction and passers by often stop to talk about the planting, we know that the work of volunteers is appreciated by local people
  • The garden commemorates an ancient tree, the Vicar's Oak, that marked the point where four boroughs now meet
  • The heritage highlighted by this garden is significant to the Upper Norwood and Crystal Palace area
