What will I be doing?

  • We are looking for a social media volunteer to develop and run social media campaigns to positively engage our supporters. Whether you are looking to gain experience in online marketing, building a social media handle or simply enjoy volunteering, this could be for you!
  • The volunteer will be part of a small team interacting with other volunteers and there will be further opportunities to organise/attend events and work with Choices to maximise the value of donations to help overcome homelessness, poverty and suffering.
  • Developing innovative strategies for utilising social media to support Choices
  • Liaising with staff to attain information about new volunteering opportunities and up -coming events
  • Setting up a social media handle/compiling and delivering interesting information about the Choices on existing forums at least once a week
  • Driving and managing content across the social media channels: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest etc.

What impact will this have?

  • Volunteers will educate and provide learners with with the skills and confidence they need to use computers through digtal programmes until they are eventually able to do it on their own
  • Volunteers help to improve the lives of disadvantaged service users with diverse needs
  • Volunteers help to motivate people gain knowledge and skills that play an important role in bringing about change in their own lives.
  • Volunteers help to equip people to take practical action that will help them to learn new social and digital skills and even gain employment.

Commitment

  • We are looking for a commitment of at least four hours per week.

What else do I need to know?

  • Unfortunately our office is stuated on the first floor without a lift.
  • References can be provided to future employers.

Expenses

  • Local travel and lunch expenses are provided.

Background checks

  • A DBS check is required
