What will I be doing?

  • Develop the bureau’s website and keeping content up to date
  • Develop a relationship with bureau staff and volunteers to ensure a ready flow of useful content for social media
  • Regularly update bureau social media pages including Facebook and Twitter
  • Create and write a bureau newsletter
  • Create interactive content to engage with the local and wider community

  • Design and deliver social media campaigns focussing on elements of the organisations work

Commitment

  • Ideally we ask for 8 hours per week, which can be over one day or spread over two days.

What else do I need to know?

  • Our volunteers come from a range of backgrounds and we particularly welcome applications from disabled people, people with physical or mental health conditions, LGBT+ and non-binary people, and people from Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities.

Training

  • The volunteer will work alongside the current Social Media lead
  • The volunteer will be given the opportunity to shadow advisers to get a better understanding of the work of the organisation
  • The volunteer will have the opportunity to progress into full advice training if desired
