Organisation aims / mission / values
- By promoting happier, healthier ageing through affordable physical activity and at the same time combat social isolation we aim to improve older people's quality of life and also to save the NHS and social care providers money
- Many members tell us their increased fitness means they attend GP’s surgeries less often, or are on reduced medication. Silverfit’s remarkably high retention reflects the fact that the social element is as highly valued, if not more so than the physical activity.
- We make sure no-one is excluded because of cost, so membership is £12 per year, and sessions range from free to £3 to attend depending on the funding at the venue.

How we deliver these aimsWe achieve our aims by running Silver sessions across 8 London Boroughs, with activities such as Nordic Walking, Pilates, Walking Football, Tai Chi.. to name but a few. Our sessions always include an element of socialising before and after an activity, which helps to keep our members social as well as active, something very important to the health of older people.
Who benefits from our workOver 45s from all walks of life, from many boroughs across London. We have over 400 Silverfit members who benefit from regular exercise and the opportunity to socialise and maintain friendships.
