What will I be doing?
- To help with stock processing, including sorting, steaming, cleaning, pricing and hanging of donated goods.
- To assist and serve customers, providing a high standard of customer service.
- To be involved in cash handling and accurate operation of the till.
- To assist in keeping the shop premises clean and tidy.
- To positively contribute to team working in the shop.
- To promote the public understanding of the work of Princess Alice Hospice and the importance of raising funds through the shop.

What impact will this have?
- Princess Alice Hospice provides free, high quality, specialist end of life care to thousands of people with life limiting illnesses in South West London, Middlesex and a large part of Surrey each year.
- In order to provide the high level of care and support to our patients and their families we rely on our local community to generate approximately 78% of our income through fundraising, retail, donations and legacies.
- Our compassionate support, comfort and advice help families, carers and friends during their loved one's illness and through the process of grief and loss.

Commitment
- 4 hours once per week.
What else do I need to know?
- Benefits of the role:. You will be volunteering in a friendly and inclusive retail team. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and give something back to the local community.
- Necessary PPE, soap and hand sanitisers are provided to all our staff and volunteers. We have COVID-19 retail risk assessment in place.
- Screens have been installed to all our shops at the till points. Social distancing measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers and customers. A limited number of staff, volunteers and customers will be allowed in-store at any one time.
- All donations are quarantined for 72 hours before sorting and we provide gloves and aprons for sorting.
- We constantly monitor the government guidelines and adhere to them all. We will ensure that everyone follows the guidance from the government to keep you and others safe.
- All new volunteers will be given full training on how to adhere to all safety measures in place.
