Our structured mentoring programme supports 8 -11 year old's, based in Islington, to support with their social and emotional development before they transition into secondary school. Read Easy Southwark is looking for volunteers to help adults who want to learn to read or improve their reading ability. Using a phonics based reading scheme the volunteer coach will meet the reader twice a week for thirty minutes each session. The reading coach will have access to supplementary reading materials and resources to help the reader make progress at their own speed.
Extensive training beforehand - in best practice, mentoring and transition planning, alongside the use of evidence-based content for behavioural change.
