What will I be doing?

  • Ensure members are informed when there are support groups coming up (via official Group NAS e-mail or social media, for example)
  • Welcoming new families and individuals
  • Advertising the support group (posters, leaflets, etc.)
  • Liaising with other volunteers to ensure there is a volunteer present for the duration of the group.
  • Occasionally organising guests to attend the group to give talks or advice to members

What impact will this have?

  • Improve support to autistic people and their families in your local area
  • Raise autism awareness in your local area
  • Reduce social isolation

Commitment

  • We are planning to run the support group monthly, day and time to be decided once volunteers are recruited, please let us know your availability
    It will be in the Southwark area
  • You will also be asked to attend branch committee meetings which are roughly once a month
    All other planning for the group to be home-based

What else do I need to know?

  • We seek applications from anyone interested in the role, but particularly welcome applications from those on the autism spectrum.
