Age: Volunteers should be 16 years old and above+

What will I be doing?

  • Offer a warm and friendly welcome to people accessing the festival
  • Help conduct surveys with festival goers using a tablet, to help feed into The Mayor of London's National Park City Festival objectives
  • Help festival goers find their way around the various events and signposting to other local Mayor of London's National Park City Festival events
  • Hand out festival programmes and promotional materials
  • Proactively approach and offer support to visitors who seem in need of assistance

What impact will this have?

  • You will help to make each interaction with festival goers personable and welcoming
  • You will help provide information to a range of different people including Londoners, tourists, people with disabilities, young people and those that do not speak English, to help them make the most of their experience at the Mayor of London's National Park City Festival
  • You will help promote London's green and environmentally friendly spaces and support festival goers to get involved in a range of activities and events

Commitment

  • We would ideally like volunteers to sign up to at least three shifts over the festival however this is not a requirement

  • Volunteers will be asked to attend a 2hr briefing on 11th July (2.5hrs for Team Leaders)

What else do I need to know?

  • Various events and shifts will take place 19-28th July.
  • Complete a short registration on our volunteer portal https://volunteerbooking.london.gov.uk/vk/volunteers/index.htm where you can sign up to your 3 preferred shifts and also the briefing session

Expenses

  • Travel expenses within zones 1-6 will be reimbursed (max. £12.50)

Background checks

  • No background checks are required

Training

  • A 2hr briefing will be held on 11th July where you will learn more about your role, meet other volunteers and receive your t-shirt
