Location: Wood Lane, Shepherd's Bush, London , W12 7RH (see map)

Travel: Wood Lane station. White City Station bus stop.

Start date: 12/07/2019 (one off event)

What will I be doing?

  • Come along and mock interview students to help them prepare for the real thing. You will be given a set of questions to provide guidance and advice on.

  • Volunteers are required to do mock interviews on students for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • You will be provided with a set of questions and a scoring sheet. We encourage volunteers to give students feedback on their interview performance and how to make further improvements.
  • “Feedback on our body language, the way we speak, the dress code, it was very helpful.” – Amina, aged 16

“I gained confidence. I’ve never been on an interview, I found out a lot of stuff that will help me for my first real one.” – Yusuf, aged 17

“I have been looking for a job since I was about 15, which usually involved awkwardly dropping my CV in shops and running away. My mock interview has given me the confidence to write a personal statement and really apply myself to what was out there. I ended up getting two jobs on the dame day”. Read Georgia’s story here.

What impact will this have?

  • Access Aspiration is a Mayor’s Fund for London programme. We offer a free service to inspiring schools which lack careers’ provision. Our aim is to provide young Londoners from low income backgrounds with skills and networks to support new routes into university and employment. Professional volunteers like you broaden young people’s understanding of the workplace, increase their confidence, resilience and knowledge
  • You will prepare the students for future interviews and encounters with professionals.
