What will I be doing?

  • Grit, in partnership with Rich Mix, have created an innovative personal development & arts programme for young people in Tower Hamlets. We have opportunities for adult volunteers to coach and support a young adult in transforming their life by participating on this nine-month programme. You will be trained.

  • The programme will combine Grit’s intensive personal development workshops with opportunities for young people to develop their artistic practice alongside industry mentors & the Rich Mix team. In addition, the programme will give opportunities for young people to gain invaluable hands-on paid work experience alongside personal life coaching sessions.
  • Participate in a Life Coach training workshop designed and delivered by some of the best trainers in the field of personal and professional development.
  • You will be involved involved in a new collaboration where life coaching meets the art industry to deliver an impactful programme combining both skillsets and experiences.
  • Commit to coaching a young person, fortnightly, face to face, for 9 months with further contact (text, email or phone call) on the alternate weeks (meetings to take place in a public place in the local community)
  • Attend monthly top up session to receive support and coaching with your new role and support your young person.

What impact will this have?

  • You will be directly involved in transforming the lives of young people and your community. Th young peopel you will be supporting are NEET (Not in edcutaion, employment or training)
  • You will have the experience and satisfaction of directly coaching a young adult. In doing so you will gain a better understanding of young peoples’ issues and thinking.
  • You will support the young person over a 9 month period by giving them the oppertunity to have someone to talk their challenges and issues through with on a fortnightly basis.
  • " The experience has been mind-blowing, it really helped me improve on how I interact, listen and communicate with people ” Grit volunteer
