Organisation aims / mission / values
- We build communities of young people around their interests with the aim of engaging and empowering them in order to ignite change.
Our youth workers go on to the streets every day to offer activity programmes which engage disengaged young people in sport or music production.
When young people enter into a mentoring relationship our youth workers offer challenges, set goals, provide advocacy, support and encouragement to empower individuals
- By developing skills, building self confidence and raising expectations for the future we are able to transform lives for the long term
- We work collaboratively with families, school,, Harrow Council and other organisations to get the best possible outcomes.
We want to create a community in which young people have the confidence and self-belief to make positive changes and transform their lives and the lives of others.
How we deliver these aimsWe believe that there is no significant change without a significant relationship so we journey with young people, through the ups and downs of their lives, often for 5 years or more. Much of our work now is with young people who are at risk or already involved in gang related activities so he journey may include the criminal justice system and prison. We don't give up on anyone and will be there to support them whatever they are facing. Eventually our words of challenge and our hope for different choices usually come to fruition and we celebrate change with them.
Who benefits from our workOur youth workers are committed to journeying with young people, many of whom are at-risk, marginalised or face barriers to achieving success in life. They may not be making good decisions just now but we aim to raise their aspirations and help them to achieve their dreams.
