What will I be doing?

  • Inspire!'s Get Ready for Work Experience programme prepares students for their work experience placements, enabling them to confidently undertake their placement and use their experiences to succeed in their future career plans.
  • You will support students to identify the skills and qualities required for the work environment and share your own work experiences to highlight employer expectations.
  • You will lead the students through a combination of individual and group-work activities, including written worksheets, brainstorming sessions, discussions and presentations to improve transferable skills and equip students with the knowledge of how to make the most out of their work experience.

What impact will this have?

  • By helping students to develop problem solving and resilience skills as well as knowledge of the workplace to help them make the most out of their work experience placement.
  • Through helping students to gain an understanding of how work experience links to their future career aspirations.
  • By helping young people to gain confidence in promoting themselves in job applications and in interviews.
