What will I be doing?

  • Liaising with girls and other volunteers to plan a programme of activities including trips out for the group using the GFS Programme.
  • Running weekly activities with girls and young women.
  • Overseeing the running of a GFS group with support from GFS staff.
  • Being familiar with and actively supporting GFS Policies and Procedures, particularly with regards to safeguarding girls and young women.
  • Liaising with parents/ guardians about GFS programme and activities.
  • Being an appropriate role model for girls and young women.

  • We are looking for inspiring women who are passionate about supporting girls to join our team of volunteers in GFS Hackney.
  • About Girls Friendly Society - GFS is a feminist organisation that provides opportunities for girls and young women to have fun, make friends and build self -esteem, well -being and resilience.
  • Volunteers run weekly groups for girls and young women in safe, single gender, non -judgemental settings through positive relationships with female role models.
  • We are looking for female volunteers in East London to share in the running of groups on a weekly basis.

Commitment

  • Volunteers are asked to take a lead role in planning, organising and delivering weekly sessions from 4 -6pm on Wednesdays .
  • Volunteers are asked to commit to volunteering for a minimum of 12 months.

Expenses

  • Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed (on production of receipts)

Background checks

  • A DBS check is required
