Organisation aims / mission / values
- To raise the next generation of STEM leaders
- Produce 1000 STEM Leaders from disadvantaged backgrounds by 2024 by inspiring and motivating young people through work experience, business challenge days and other engagement activities.
- We aim to inspire, motivate and support 14-18-year-olds to pursue STEM subjects at school and to ultimately consider careers in these fields.
How we deliver these aimsWe work with young people who are underrepresented in higher education and particularly in STEM - particularly African and Caribbean students. We connect young people with businesses and higher education in order to motivate and inspire young people. We provide work experience, university workshops, challenge days and other activities. We have seen over 400 students go on to study STEM subjects at university and work in related fields.
Who benefits from our workStudents from disadvantaged backgrounds benefit from having access to opportunities, scholarships, mentors and skills development. Universities benefit in being able to attract talented students to apply to study at their institution. Businesses benefit by learning how to attract the next generation of talent.
