What will I be doing?

  • Forging long-term mutually beneficial relationships with corporate supporters and raising funds towards the ongoing work of STfL.
  • Be responsible for devising and implementing a successful programme of fundraising from the corporate sector to an agreed annual target, including general donations.
  • Where appropriate also approaching local authorities, trusts and individuals to secure funding.
  • Exploring Legacy fundraising to encourage supporters to consider leaving a gift to the charity in their will.
  • Offering guidance on using direct mailing to reach a range of potential and current donors, that also feedback on the impact of any donated funds.
  • Supporting the charity to develop a permanent model to raise money from businesses and corporates, from payroll giving to sponsorship.

What impact will this have?

  • The implementation of fundraising strategies and the development of succesful working relationships with the correct corporate supporters will create numerous opportunities for STfL to grow as a charity.
  • STfL will be able to target its street tree planting campaigns in areas where there are higher levels of deprivation and wards where there are lower levels of tree canopy. It will also be able to focus its street tree planting in and around hospitals, social housing, schools and nurseries.
  • STfL will be able to increase its capacity in order to meet current tree planting demand and even stengthen STfL's ability to help change policy in order to exponentially increase the amount of street trees we plant each year, both in its residential-led street campaigns but also in its school community and social housing targeted campaigns.
  • Once STfL is working successfully with corporate supporters, the STfL campaign could be used as a pilot for residential-led street tree planting in other London boroughs and nationwide. This would have a huge impact on the amount of successful street tree planting across the UK.
