RNLI Event Support Volunteer - Bromley/ West Wickham region

What will I be doing?

• We need volunteers to help with all or any aspect of the below. Please do not feel you must do all elements, have experience or lots of free time to join us - all contributions are very welcome and even a few hours per year is a real help.
• Working with the existing team to help to develop and grow an exciting and varied events calendar for the coming year to ensure a diverse range of events and help to grow the profile of the group and the RNLI in the region.
• Support with the planning of specific events ensuring events are promoted locally and across Social Media, risk assessments are carried out where necessary and sufficient "on the day" support is available.
• Support with events when they happen. Sign up to an event at a time that suits you and come along and help put up a gazebo and sell RNLI branded items, or help us to collect at a football match or supermarket. Pairs or small groups of friends are very welcome - just get in touch and let us know your availability.

What impact will this have?

• The RNLI is the Charity that saves lives at sea, but we also save lives on The Thames, in fact our busiest station is at Tower. This is not widely known, even by Londoners, but our volunteers and our events across London help us to raise vital funds and awareness.
• When you join one of our fundraising teams you meet new people, work within your own community and become part of the wider RNLI crew helping to save lives on The Thames.
• The Bromley, West Wickham and Hayes branch is a successful and highly engaged branch who would love more members to enable them to carry out a larger number of events as well as more ambitious events. By supporting with an event, be it as a one off on-the-day supporter, or helping to plan and organise you will be helping to raise vital funds for the RNLI. Every hour you give us of your time really does make a real difference.

Commitment

• No minimum or set commitment in terms of hours or specific days - ad hoc and entirely flexible.
• Working with the fundraising group to help to build an events calendar, supporting with events when available.

Expenses

• Pre-discussed reasonable travel expenses can be paid
