What will I be doing?

  • Retreive existing collection tins from an agreed section of our catchment area local to you, replacing them with new tins at least every 3 months and returning full tins to the hospice.
  • Lead the collection tin activity in your local area, placing tins in local cafes, shops etc.
  • Identify opportunities to place new collection tins in your local shops, cafes etc and then commit to collecting them at least every 3 months. Complete the required paperwork to record their location and details.
  • Deliver event and marketing materials (leaflets, posters) to our PAH shops that are within your agreed local area.

What impact will this have?

  • Princess Alice Hospice provides free, high quality, specialist end of life care to thousands of people with life limiting illnesses in South West London, Middlesex and a large part of Surrey each year.
  • In order to provide the high level of care and support to our patients and their families we rely on our local community to generate approximately 78% of our income through fundraising, retail, donations and legacies.
  • Our compassionate support, comfort and advice help families, carers and friends during their loved one's illness and through the process of grief and loss.

Commitment

  • A flexible commitment of around 4 hours a month, with the expectation that You will visit the Hospice around once a month.

What else do I need to know?

  • We are committed to meet all health and safety recommendations and provide safe and secure volunteer opportunities. We have completed a full risk assessment against COVID-19 and we have all necessary precautions in place. As part of the volunteer recruitment and induction process we will review the risk assessment with all volunteers.

  • You will be invited to a group induction training course as well as be encouraged to complete a number of online learning modules and have access to our education programme.
