Organisation aims / mission / values

  • The Big Bang Fairs is a national programme run by Engineering UK with funding from government and industry. In addition to a national event held in March, there are 11 regional programmes which each year inspire over 150,000 students, engaging them with the potential of a career in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). During 2018, The Big Bang London saw over 22,000 students from 190 schools engage with STEM, exploring the research, products, organizations and industry that are shaping the future of STEM and the world they will work in.
  • The aim is to give young people a day of hands-on STEM to show them the sheer scope and variety of STEM-based activities and introduce them to work skills and career paths.
  • The Big Bang Sutton brings hands-on science and engineering out onto the High Street so families can engage with STEM without having to seek out a museum or education event.

During 2018, The Big Bang London saw over 22,000 students from 190 schools engage with STEM, exploring the research, products, organizations and industry that are shaping the future of STEM and the world they will work in.

Who benefits from our work

Young people are the main beneficiaries of the Big Bang London. But we are also supporting the UK economy by increasing the number of people who will want to work in STEM-based jobs in the future.
