What will I be doing?

  • The Prevention and Diversion (P&D) team within Young Hackney supports Young People who have offended to address the root causes of their problems, support them to make amends for the harm they caused to any individual(s)/the community
  • Volunteers will support a bicycle repair workshop and support young people to complete their reparation order (community hours). Volunteers will fix broken bicycles which will then be donated to the community. Volunteers need to have experience and knowledge of bicycle mechanics and how to fix broken bicycles.
  • Volunteers will act as role models, engage with young people on reparation orders and build positive relationships.
  • Volunteers will support young people to learn new skills and build confidence.
