What will I be doing?

  • Assessing whether clients are eligible for a range of benefits via the phone or home visits. The benefits could include Attendance Allowance, Pension Credit, Personal Independence Payments, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support
  • Provide assistance with benefits form filling at home visits
  • Handling a small case load of clients, as well as recording case notes manually and electronically
  • Participating in training, supervision as required
  • Working as part of a team and with other Age UK staff and volunteers
  • Working within Age UK Croydon’s core policies and procedures and in particular within its Lone Working Procedure.

What impact will this have?

  • Supporting clients through the process of claiming benefits
  • Enabling clients to afford the care, transport, and heating they need
  • Improving the lives and well being of clients
