Commitment

  • Air Cadet Squadrons meet on two evenings a week and participate in various optional weekend activities. Adult volunteers can give as much or as little time as they can, but we need volunteers whoare happy to commit for the long term.
  • The Air Cadets is run by volunteers and you will form part of that team, led by uniformed volunteers. A successful Squadron requires adult volunteers with a variety if skills, but with everyone applying their skills and experience where it best fits.

What else do I need to know?

  • The RAF Air Cadets is committed to providing a COVID Secure environment for both our cadets and adult volunteers. A range for safety measures are in place and will be under regular review to ensure they remain aligned with Government advice.
  • The application process can be a bit lengthy while we wait for your DBS Check to be completed, but we will endeavour to keep in touch while you wait.
  • You will be a civilian instructor within a uniformed youth organisation and so must be willing to work within the ethos and values of the Royal Air Force and respect the discipline and regulations this entails.

Expenses

  • Home to duty mileage and public transport reimbursement subject to current Air Cadet policy and rules.

Background checks

  • A DBS check is required
