What will I be doing?

  • You will be part of a team that plans and facilitates weekly confidence and resilience building activities for girls.
  • You will be a reliable team member, committed to running weekly sessions safely for girls and young women.
  • You will share in the planning and delivery of activities that express our GFS themes - Have fun; Happy to Be Me; Get Active; Be Creative; Skills for Life and My Community.

  • Supporting girls to become more confident and resilient by being a consistent and positive role model.
  • Helping to expand the horizons of girls by introducing them to new ideas and inspiring women from past and present.

Commitment

  • You will commit to taking part in sessions every Thursday during term time - arriving promptly at 5.45pm to help set up, and staying until at 7.30pm.
  • You will take turns to plan and lead activities along with other committed female volunteers.

Expenses

  • Volunteers can claim travel reasonable expenses.

Background checks

  • A DBS check is required

Training

  • Volunteers will be given an induction to their volunteering role with GFS.
  • Volunteers will be given online and face to face safeguarding training.
  • Volunteers will be given training and support with planning a programme and facilitating sessions.
