Organisation aims / mission / values

  • 2000 Community Action Centre aims to relieve the effects of disadvantage and poverty due to age, ill-health or financial hardship, in the interest of social welfare with the object of benefiting the life of families and the inhabitants of the Pepys Estate and surrounding areas without distinction of sexual orientation, race, political, religious or other opinions through the provision of the following services, training and employment initiatives; health and well-being programmes; recreation and leisure activities, information and advice as the trustees from time to time think fit.
  • To maintain and manage and to co-operate with any local statutory authority in the maintenance and management of a Centre for activities promoted by the charity and its constituent bodies in furtherance of the above objects.
  • Such other charitable purposes for the benefit of families and the local communities as the trustees may from time to time think fit.

How we deliver these aims

Some of the activities / services delivered by us include an outreach service offering information, advice & guidance for housing, Universal Credit, Disability PIP. Youth and social activities, supporting the development of healthy social networks. Health and wellbeing - a project increasing engagement through gardening, helping to reduce isolation and loneliness. Supporting a range of small service providers increasing activities to local people e.g. yoga sessions and an annual outdoor cinema.
