Every year, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, recognises and thanks some of the most outstanding and committed volunteers from across the capital. In 2021, to reach even more incredible Londoners who give their time freely to support their local communities through volunteering and social action, the Mayor launched his 10,000 Thank Yous campaign.

Team London, the Mayor’s volunteering and social action team collaborated with London based community artist Monique Jackson, to design a limited run of 10,000 free volunteer thank you cards for distribution to voluntary groups across the capital. The cards allowed volunteer managers to write their own personal message of thanks to their individual volunteers, and acknowledge their vital contribution to delivering their services.

The 10,000 thank you cards were used by organisations across London to recognise long service, overcoming challenges to volunteering or were just a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to their volunteers for being amazing.

In the video below, watch The Mayor thank all Londoners for their service to our city.
