Executive summary

The Police Knowledge Fund is a College of Policing initiative which aims to develop the understanding and use of research in policing; widen understanding of evidence-based approaches to solve problems and, where there are gaps, develop and build new evidence-based approaches and share learning and knowledge across policing. Each project which applies for the Knowledge Fund requires support from the local PCC as well as other supporting agencies. London – based projects, therefore require the support of MOPAC to apply for the Knowledge Fund.

Recommendation

The DMPC is asked to delegate to MOPAC COO Helen Bailey in consultation with Professor Betsy Stanko, the decisions regarding the sign-off for MOPAC’s support to applicants to the College of Policing‘s Police Knowledge Fund subject to the strict criteria set by the College of Policing.
