The MPS is seeking approval to award a call-off contract to install temporary alarms at vulnerable people’s/witnesses home address locations. The current MPS contract expires on September 30th 2017. The MPS has an ongoing requirement and demand for the MPS to install temporary alarms.
Recommendation
The DMPC is asked to
1. To approve the award of a new call-off contract from a Greater Manchester Police Framework to install temporary alarms at vulnerable people’s /witnesses home address locations.
2. The new call-off contract will be for a four year period with a total estimated value of £3.2m.

1. Introduction and background
1.1 The MPS is seeking to approval to award a new call-off contact from a Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Framework to install temporary alarms at vulnerable/witnesses home address locations. There are no other existing suitable Frameworks that provide the same alarm.
2. Issues for consideration
2.1. Without a contract in place vulnerable witnesses will not have the protection of an alarm system.
