Become a volunteer verifier

Are you an expert in workplace health? Would you like to assess and advise organisations on the health and wellbeing of their employees?

If so, you could join our network of independent volunteer verifiers. In this role you will qualitatively assess employers against the nine standards of the London Healthy Workplace Award, whilst also celebrating what they are doing well for the health and wellbeing of their staff, and providing ideas for improvement.

What are the benefits of being a verifier?

  • being part of a network with other experts in the field
  • working with and learning from a range of employers of all sizes and sectors
  • professional development opportunities in the field of workplace health and wellbeing
  • helping to reduce health inequalities in workplaces across London

What do verifiers do?

As a verifier, your main responsibility is to meet with and interview representatives from organisations who have applied for the Award. These verification interviews form part of the assessment into whether the organisation meets the standards of the accreditation. The report you will produce is a vital component of the overall feedback given. As a verifier you are expected to attend two verification visits or days each year.

All of our volunteer verifiers attend a half day training course at City Hall, where you will meet your peers, gain an oversight of the Award and your role. You will be supported by an existing verifier, and are expected to attend our two verifier network meetings each year, where you will have the chance to meet and exchange ideas with other network members.
