London Early Years Campaign
In December 2021, the Mayor launched his re-booted London Early Years Campaign, aiming to improve awareness about the range of early education and childcare support available to parents of under 5s.
Through the campaign we are:
- running a social media campaign, targeting parents of under 5s via Facebook and Instagram
- exploring ways that employers and family-facing professionals in London can better support parents to understand and access early education and childcare support offers
This work builds on the success of our 2019 London Early Years Campaign but targets all London parents - not just those entitled to free early education for two-year-olds.
Read on for more, including how you can support the campaign through our free digital pack for partners.
Digital pack
We've created a free digital pack to help others support the Mayor's London Early Years Campaign and improve awareness about early education and childcare offers across the city.
Download it today and support London parents via your own social media channels and networks.
If you need to access the digital pack in a different format, contact us at [email protected]
Social media campaign
We know that childcare support offers can be confusing for parents at the best of times, and especially given the disruption we've all faced over the last couple of years. Getting the support they're entitled to can help parents get back to work or training and ensure children are ready for the next stage.
From December 2021, we're targeting parents of under 5s across London through a social media campaign on Facebook and Instagram.
They will be signposted to the Government's Childcare Choices website, where they can find information on a range of offers:
- Tax-free childcare
- 15 hours free childcare for eligible 2-year-olds
- 15 hours free childcare for 3 and 4-year-olds
- 30 hours free childcare for working families with 3 and 4-year-olds
- Tax credits for childcare
- Universal credit for childcare
- Support while you study
Support for London employers
We grant funded Coram Family and Childcare to explore ways that London employers can better support working parents to understand and access early education and childcare offers.
In collaboration with a group of Good Work Standard accredited employers, they have created a toolkit, which brings together good practice and tips for employers.
If you're a London-based employer, you can download it below.
Support for family-facing professionals
We grant funded PACEY to support health visitors, Job Centre Plus (JCP) staff and social workers in London to better understand and promote childcare offers and entitlements.
They ran a series of bespoke webinars for these professionals in May and June 2022, with accompanying PDF guides to help when speaking to parents and families.
Download the PDFs, or check our recorded versions of the webinars below.
