Increase the attainment and progress for disadvantaged pupils

What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?

Our staff recognised that the English and Maths performances of disadvantaged pupils were not inline with their peers, and many were not achieving a higher standard in these subjects.

What actions did you take?

-Introduced the use of digital learning technologies to provide innovative and creative teaching and learning opportunities in every classroom

-Gap analysis of ongoing assessment. -Assessment information shared with class teachers, and planning updated to reflect this.

-Pupil Attainment Reviews targeted interventions for ‘Greater Depth across the curriculum’.

-Parent workshops and tutorials.

-Engaged with professional bodies such as NRich, NCETM to deliver tutorial sessions which challenge and inspire learners.

What were the outcomes?

A higher percentage of pupils made more than expected progress in both subjects at the end of Key Stage 2.
