Fulham Cross Girls' School 2018/19

A relentless focus on ‘Universal Teaching’ ensuring challenge for all.

What problems were in your school and how did you identify them?

Our school measures in the highest quintile for deprivation on every measure and our students are a diverse cohort with many EAL and SEND students.

What actions did you take?

We needed to focus on all school groups, so personalised the curriculum to ensure students of all abilities were challenged to achieve their best outcomes.

We maintained a tight focus on wave one teaching – what happens in the classroom every day. We also focused relentlessly on developing the whole child, through our EMPOWER charter - we refuse to become an exam factory!

Our data procedures are closely monitored in order to ensure timely and relevant interventions are put in place for all students.

What were the outcomes?

A P8 score of 0.84 –in the top 2% nationally, the gap between PP and non PP students is minimal.
