London Schools Gold Club 2015 / 2016 criteria for Primary schools

The London Schools Gold Club 2015 / 2016 criteria for Primary schools is outlined here. Schools are invited to join the Gold club, so this criteria is published for transparency.

Eligibility

Schools with 50% or more of pupils eligible for the Pupil Premium:

  • 35% or more of all pupils achieve Level 5+ in reading, writing and mathematics at Key Stage 2 (London average, 27%, England average, 24%)
  • 80% of pupils who are eligible for Pupil Premium achieve Level 4+ in reading, writing and mathematics, almost equivalent to the London average for all pupils of 82% (England Pupil Premium average, 67%)

Schools with fewer than 50% of pupils eligible for the Pupil Premium:

  • 55% or more of all pupils achieved Level 5+ in reading, writing and mathematics at Key Stage 2 (London average, 27%, England average, 24%)
  • 80% of pupils who are eligible for Pupil Premium achieve Level 4+ in reading, writing and mathematics, almost equivalent to the London average for all pupils of 82% (England Pupil Premium average, 67%)

Independent schools – those who have Key Stage 2 results and who have opted to submit them to the Department of Education:

  • 80% of all pupils achieve Level 5+ in reading, writing and mathematics at Key Stage 2 (London average, 27%, England average, 24%)

  1. Schools must meet each criterion listed in bullet points.
  2. Analysis is based on DfE performance tables’ definitions.
  3. Low prior attainment refers to pupils below Level 4 at Key Stage 2.
  4. Percentages have been used, instead of actual numbers, for simplicity and consistency across the measures. The impact of rounding has been checked and produced no changes to Gold Club membership and this will be kept under review in subsequent years.
