Child hunger in London

The London Food Board has worked with Ipsos MORI Social Research Institute to provide a report on child hunger and food poverty in London. You can download this report below.

We want this report to build support for the Mayor’s aim to make London a ‘zero hunger city’ by 2020.

Understanding food poverty in London

The economic climate and rising food prices are putting family budgets under more and more pressure. We interviewed over 500 parents and 500 children – at all income levels across London – to understand the impact that hunger has on their lifestyle. You can view some of these case studies below.

The five photo essays below focus on five different families in London and their experiences of food poverty.

London Food Map

Alongside the Child Hunger report, we’re also launching a new tool. The London Food Map will help organisations that support people in food poverty to identify and access affordable and free sources of food.

This map has been produced in partnership with Plan Zheroes, a London-based food charity working to reduce the needless waste of edible food in London.
