Week One Highlights

Here's our first weekly lowdown of what to do during week one of Sounds Like London.

 

Friday 1 June

As it's the first day of June, we couldn't resist picking two highlights!

 

SoundsLikeLondon - Jade Bird UROK - Michael Turkington
Our series of gigs with Airbnb and Little Concert kicks off with a world first!

 Jade Bird will be the first artist to play a gig in the North Tower of Tower Bridge. She's attracting attention on both sides of the Atlantic and is one of the UK's fastest rising stars.

Made in Dublin, Sounds Like London, Feels like Universal. 

Irish Londoner, Kal Lavelle, launches her debut album 'For The Loved And Lost' at St.Giles in the Fields. Accompanied by multi instrumentalist and album producer Peter Lyons, there'll also be support from Fiona Bevan.

Saturday 2 June

Fightback London logo Sounds Like London
It's day two of Fightback London!

These gigs, taking place across June, are raising funds for the Music Venue Trust's Emergency Response Line, which helps venues at risk of closure.

Featured as part of Fightback London is Camden Rocks Festival. One day. 24 venues. 200 acts, including some great emerging artists and some great headliners.

Sunday 3 June

Tara Minton
The next gig in our Airbnb Concert series, taking place in an exclusive underground speakeasy.

Tara Minton is one of the leading contemporary harpists in Europe today. Melbourne born and bred, she moved to London in 2011 and never looked back. 

Monday 4 June

NPGevent - Jonathan Badyal Sounds Like London
Want to break into the music industry? Then this is the event for you!

Organised by Universal Music and the National Portrait Gallery, get an exclusive insight into the music business with Rebecca Allen, President of Decca Records and singer-songwriter Imelda May, one of biggest-selling UK female artists of the year.

Yuja Wang Ian Douglas - Mairi Warren Sounds Like London
Be prepared for a virtuosic performance!

Chinese pianist Yuja Wang graces the stage of the Barbican to showcase her amazing piano technique.

Wednesday 6 June
