‘Equal Life Chances for All’ is an approach that aims to bring Londoners together, rather than divide them. This revised framework outlines our aims over the next four years, recognises progress towards achieving equality, focuses on what still needs to be done, and presents our future equality objectives.
The Equality Act 2010 replaced all previous equality legislation and covers all types of unlawful discrimination, changing the legislative landscape since the publication of the original equality framework in 2009. The GLA is using this opportunity to align our approach, and publish specific and measurable equality objectives as required under the Act.
This framework reinforces the Mayor’s commitment to tackling inequality, improving life chances, and removing barriers that prevent people from reaching their full potential.
