Through the British Fashion Council, we fund the fashion stars of the future and support world-class events including London Fashion Week and London Fashion Week Men's.

London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week - women's

London Fashion Week (LFW) is held in February and September each year and is one of the most high profile and influential events on the global fashion calendar.

It is a huge opportunity to promote London and British fashion on the world stage and generates more than £100 million in orders each season. LFW also attracts more media coverage than most major news and international sporting events.

Representing the best of British, LFW features rising stars like Christopher Kane and Jonathan Saunders, alongside such British icons as Vivienne Westwood and Margaret Howell. It also profiles international heritage brands like Burberry Prorsum, Mulberry and Pringle of Scotland.

This season, BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund Winner, Nicholas Kirkwood has adapted his signature chevron pattern to create a strong visual identity for this season’s LFW branding.

London, home of menswear

London Fashion Week - men's

From the bowler hat to bondage trousers, London has been a world leader in men’s fashion for decades. The city is home to some of the most famous and established menswear brands in the world, as well as a host of cutting edge menswear fashion talent.

Every January and June, London Fashion Week Men's showcases the most innovative and international menswear designers that gernerate billions to our economy.

Mayor of London is a dedicated supporter of the city's small to medium size businesses and our partnership with the British Fashion Council helps us invest in our creative industries while showing off London style to the rest of the world.

Find out why London is the home of menswear, the place where the Bowler hat, Wellington boots and even bondage trousers were invented.
