fourth plinth schools awards pink thought cloud

The Fourth Plinth Schools Awards 2017 is now open

Every year we invite London’s primary and secondary schoolchildren to create artworks, inspired by the commissions for the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square and London life.

Teachers can submit their students' work to us, as indivuduals or in groups.

Have a look at our competition rules before you get started. The deadline for submissions is 10 March 2017.

We will be hosting an awards ceremony for the winners at City Hall on 27 April 2017 with prizes from Cass Arts. This year's judge will be announced soon so stay posted!

To get started, download the Fourth Plinth Teachers Resource pack and if you have any questions along the way, please contact: [email protected].

David Shrigley's 'Really good' sculpture on the Fourth Plinth at Trafalgar Square
Last year we received over 2,500 ideas from creative young Londoners, featured in our gallery.

David Shrigley's 'Really Good' is the latest Fourth Plinth commission, unveiled in September 2016.

It has already inspired some great images and we're excited to see lots more coming in.
