After a great 4 day visit to London we were off early morning to catch a flight to Rome for the second leg of our trip. On the walk from Lancaster Gate to Paddington to catch the Heathrow Express we were stopped by a taxi driver advising us that service from Heathrow was suspended due to an alarm at the station."We're we in a hurry, we're we prepaid?" At prepaid he told us that maybe by the time we got there the alarm would be over. Well at the station we enquired and there was no disruptions, simply a scam to get us to pay the fare to the airport. To be clear on this, this was an older (60+/-), white, English driver. Let's not play a racist card here.
