I'm sure you'll agree that Londoners need to do something about moped enable crime, and consequently start to impact on knife crime. The two issues run hand in hand.
I live in W4 and ride a motorbike everyday to east SE1 and back. I park it in bike bay everyday. I put a cover over it and chain it at both ends every time its parked. I ask other bikers in the bay to use hard security devices and covers. Some do, most don't. At night it's parked in the street, I use a ground anchor if it's accessible, lock and cover every time time. No excuses = no loses.
The idea is to stop moped enabled crime by reducing the number of moped thefts in London. By implementing an advertising campaign to encourage scooterists and bikers to lock and cover their motorbikes. Every day - all the time. The method is simple. Simply start giving away free lockable motorcycle/moped covers that have anti crime slogans on them. Get them sponsored by companies, or anyone with a positive anti crime message. Make insecure bikes a no no in the bike bay. (Because they make all the other bikes less secure.) Use peer pressure to force lazy complaining types to actually do something and taking security seriously.
It's a simple plan. All we need is enough people behind the idea to force Sadiq into actually doing something decisive about the knife crime problem. If we don't help him it's not going to go away.
Please provide positive support for this idea.
