An invasion of fare dodgers is taking over our city, travelling without a ticket on our Tubes and buses - and getting away with it.
Tonight an evader pushed his way through the gate as I exited Uxbridge Station in full sight of two staff.
I beckoned to them that the man behind me got out on my ticket. But the staff said there was nothing they could do but log it on their app, as they duly did.
The TfL employee explained they cannot stop people doing this and was understanding at my annoyance.
People regularly board the 222 bus at Uxbridge station without a ticket and are not challenged. I know because I hear their sob stories as I sit near the door.
As an honest fare-paying passenger, I'm fed up subsidising these cheats and would ask what London Mayor Sadiq Khan and TfL are doing to clamp down on this scourge.
