I am an Ilford resident usually commuting by bicycle to central London. I have been reading with interest your 'London's cycling infrastructure' report from the London Assembly (March 2018) and I am glad to see that the main artery from Ilford to Stratford ( Romford Road ) has been identified as a 'top potential connection'
However I see that, concerning our area, the Mayor is contemplating only this route:
"Ilford to Barking Riverside"
I am sure this is a nice infrastructure but is highly doubt this is a priority for the people commuting from Ilford to the city centre. I don't think is realistic for people going from Ilford to city centre to go down to ilford> Barking cs3 and then London. this is cycling, we need optimised routes.
When is the Mayor expecting to start improving dangerous areas like the ILFORD HILLL-ROMFORD ROAD UNDERPASS INTERSECTING NORTH CIRCULAR ROAD? This is really a deathtrap for cyclists as there's no lanes and cars rush to enter the highway, There's really an accident waiting to happen here.
We need a specific timetable for when the CS2 will be extended to Ilford and hopefully beyond. Population in our area is growing hugely and we want sustainable ways for commuting without risking our lives with trucks and traffic coming and going to highways.
