I have commuted by car for 40 years, and the only time The Bank junction has been a problem was when roads leading off it were blocked by building works. Not only has this closure caused many vehicles to drive much further to avoid it, the whole area has become a desert. It’s impossible to exit a shop, office or restaurant and get a taxi. This banning of the most important nodal point in our City is seen as a self defeating joke by foreign business people. We must wake up to realise we should be helping out the business community, not cutting it off at the knees.Or doesn’t the City Corporation want to maintain is rates revenue?
