I feel like our city is drowning in litter! Every gutter is lined with plastic bottles. The hedges are stuffed with food wrappers. Every bit of green space is blighted by sweet wrappers, cans and bottles. Takeaway bags and paper cups are thrown into people's front gardens and bottles of urine are left by their gates. Public bins are so full they overflow onto the pavements and their contents are blown up the roads. Increasingly, people just leave their rubbish on the train, on the bus and even on the grass in public parks. I am sure I am not alone in observing this growing problem, which is far worse today than it was even five years ago.
Why do you think it's so bad and what can we do to resolve it?
