London is a carbon capital. Our city is at the forefront of financing fossil fuel extraction and the devastating climate impacts happening around the globe right now. Hundreds and thousands of Londoners living in fuel poverty and toxic levels of air pollution are also on the frontline of this broken energy system.
In response to public pressure, Sadiq’s election manifesto contained two crucial climate promises:
To divest the London Pension Fund from fossil fuels
To set up a public energy company that gives Londoners clean, affordable energy
Over a year in office and he’s broken both. We need better.
On November 16th, as part of the Mayor’s ‘Environmental Strategy Consultation’ and during the UN Climate Talks, we’ll be putting climate, energy and justice at the heart of City Hall.
Join 350.org at 8.30am outside City Hall for a powerful demonstration and ‘Speak Out’ to keep the heat on decision makers.
