Those big bold promises when Sadiq Khan was campaigning for the London Mayor's position seem destine never to come to fruition.
I am aware that he has a terrible communicative relationship with each of the London Councils because no so long ago my local council of Enfield had been planting extra trees in our local park which prompted some us locals to contact the council and point out that trees and seasonal planting are actually vital where pollution is being generated the most which is in Green Lane's and the North Circular area of Palmers Green. Well the response we received from Enfield Council was a simple and straight forward ' These trees are for the park' ,that was it, nothing about planting further trees in the most concerning areas we mentioned. Enfield Council's very poor attitude towards pollution is a complete disgrace.
So, pollution in the area rages on without a care by Enfield Council or the London Mayor.
Now days when I see Sadiq Khan in the media, he clearly comes across as disinterested and lethargic just about everything never mind pollution, which instantly, reminding me of that late great actor 'Jack Lemon' in that wonderful film 'The Apartment', as the actor finally succeeds the climb to the top of his career, being his secret main aim in life, we the viewer see him getting over excited when his sees his name outside that special office door and then we find him seating in that chair with his train of thoughts and feelings transparent to the viewers.
It seems the passion evaporates quickly once the elections are over.
All we are asking for is for trees and seasonal planting to help combat pollution and soften the ambience, encouraging visitors and good shop trading in the area.
